ELWING GAO



Elwing Gao is a 21-year-old Bay Area native currently studying at The Cooper Union (NYC). She is an artist and freelance graphic designer with a love for interdisciplinary work and a particular soft spot for books and publications. She has recently done design work for Typographics 2024, the annual typographics fair organized by the Herb Lubalin Study Center.

As an artist, she has edited for Kalopsia Literary Magazine and her work has appeared in Lantern Review, a former literary arts journal celebrating Asian-American art and writing. As a designer, she has worked on yearbook staffs for 5 years, as well as independent projects for events like dance recitals, conferences, and student body officer campaigns.

In her free time, she loves playing guitar, taking walks, writing songs and letters, eating fruit, talking about Lord of the Rings, or just being somewhere with lots of trees and fresh air.
